Brian Mansfield has been the Chief Finance Officer at PrimusLabs since 2011. Prior to being appointed CFO, Mr. Mansfield served as the Director of Business Development. He has been employed by the company since 1997. Mr. Mansfield earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
Chad Smith is the retired partner of one of the largest fresh produce firms in the Santa Maria valley. His day to day duties included the sales and marketing as well as the administrative functions associated with ownership and active management of a large fresh produce company. Mr. Smith’s early career included becoming, at the time, one of the youngest fresh produce buying representatives for Safeway. Mr. Smith’s stint at Safeway included being stationed in the five western states and other locations throughout California exposing him to a wide range of fresh produce commodities and agricultural growing practices.
Eric Schwefler is a partner in Caliber Accounting and Tax LLP with expertise in corporate, individual, trust, and partnership tax law; planning tax strategies; auditing: and planning audit strategies. He has also served as a founding partner of DocuTeam, a document storage, retrieval and management service. He was an organizer of American Perspective Bank, also serving as the bank’s first Chairman of the Board of Directors, and on the Board of Directors for First Bank of San Luis Obispo. Mr. Schwefler earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a Master’s Degree in Taxation from San Jose State University.
Gosia Myers manages the pesticide and residue labs and serves as the VP of Laboratories Operations of PrimusLabs. She has been employed by PrimusLabs since 1989, starting her career with the company as a chemist before she oversaw the opening of the company’s first microbiology lab in Santa Maria, California, in 1994. Since that time, she has managed the expansion of microbiological testing to six other laboratories in both the U.S. and Mexico. Ms. Myers earned a Master’s Degree in Food Science from the Cracow University of Economics.
Michael T. Payne
Michael T. Payne is a retired fresh produce executive who began his farming career following graduation from the University of California, Davis, and a stint in the United States Navy stationed on destroyers in the Pacific Ocean. After two years managing a farm in the San Joaquin Valley of California, Mr. Payne joined the Bruce Church Company where he progressed from a farm manager to General Manager over a period of 20 years. Over his career he also served in management or executive positions with Skyline Farms of Oregon, and Merit Packing Company and River Ranch Fresh Foods of California. Since his retirement in 1994 he has served on various business and nonprofit boards of directors.
Robert F. Stovicek
Robert F. Stovicek, Ph.D. is the President and Chairman of PrimusLabs and Primus Group, Inc. He has been employed at PrimusLabs since 1988, beginning his work as a chemist, before moving on to a management role during which he built the company into a globally recognized food safety firm. Mr. Stovicek earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of Idaho. He then transferred to Michigan State University, from which he earned his Doctoral Degree in Crop Science and Environmental Toxicology in 1988.
