Azzule Eyes December 1st Release Date for Primus Standard Audits v20.06

Widely accepted by American buyers and retailers, the Primus Standard is a certification program that was first developed in the 1990s. In June 2020, Azzule began accepting stakeholder input on the new version of the Primus Standard Audits (PSA). We would like to thank all of the operations, certification bodies, and industry experts who contributed their invaluable feedback. Effective December 1, 2020, Primus Standard Audits v20.06 will be available for use, though the earlier version of PSA will be available during a transition period. After July 1, 2021, only v20.06 can be used.

  Version20.06 incorporates FSMA requirements, including those of the Produce Safety Rule, Preventive Controls for Human Food, and the Sanitary Transportation Rule, as well as other regulatory requirements, such as the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, along with updates for Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). In light of the current global pandemic, v20.06 also offers the option of remote auditing as an alternative to on-site inspections. This new version of the PSA will continue to provide data-driven results to users of the audit – information that can be enhanced by utilizing the Azzule Data Management Platform.
