PrimusGFS Version 4 Preview is Coming Soon!

It’s that time again! With the Global Food Safety Initiative’s (GFSI) publication of their new 2024 Benchmarking Requirements, Azzule will soon release a preview of what’s to come for PrimusGFS v4.0. We gathered valuable insight from you all, as food safety experts, during the consultation period in early 2024. Rest assured your feedback was reviewed in great detail and much of it was integrated into this new version along with new regulatory and industry requirements that are needed to enhance PrimusGFS.

Changes to PrimusGFS v4.0 incorporate stakeholder feedback for v3.2; along with updates to align with regulatory requirements and GFSI’s updated benchmarking requirements, BMRS v2024. Some key updates include the addition of food safety culture and crisis management requirements, allergen-related questions, enhanced traceability, increased focus on harvest crew equipment, and new indoor agriculture questions specifically for CEA operations, among other improvements.

PrimusGFS will undergo official GFSI benchmarking later this year and stakeholders will have another opportunity to provide feedback during the GFSI consultation period. Official documents for PrimusGFS v4.0 will be available for preview in mid-2025 but will not be finalized or mandatory until 2026. This timeline allows for GFSI’s review and recognition process to be completed, as well as sufficient time for stakeholders to understand and implement the updates.
